Suarez and Dalglish's apologies went a long way in calming my emotions over this issue, because I really was getting disillusioned over the way the Club approached this debacle. I really enjoyed this piece: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/soccer/opinion-luis-suarez-makes-me-embarrassed-and-ashamed-of-liverpool/story-e6frfg8x-1226269482989

I hope Suarez has genuinely learned from his mistake. The key is for him to knuckle down and really let his football do the talking. I was never going to buy a #7 shirt and probably won't ever, but I hope he does it justice by proving that we were right all along in supporting him.

Agree completely on your take on the Suarez debacle. Unfortunately, any benefit of the doubt he had at that point was lost.

It is increasingly clear that Suarez has a, shall we say, "quirky" personality, and may not be the most likable character we've had in recent years.

The worst thing that could happen to a football club like Liverpool is to be mired in a scandal like this, as little could make us (and our fans) look as bad as supporting a guy like Suarez when he moves on to act like this. I dont understand whether the fans who continue to support him blindly are overt racists or simply blindly supportive of anything LFC...either way, it reflects poorly on the club as a whole. Kenny Dalglish has smeared his reputation over this issue, and it remains to be seen what happens with Suarez.

I can only hope that a Spanish giant comes along with a Torres-like offer for Suarez, after which Liverpool can be rid of his shenanigans, and have the funds to replace him. Id love another Newcastle striker as replacement for a former star striker (Demba Ba!). Am I getting way too ahead of myself? Probably. But I wont be wearing my #7 Liverpool shirt anytime soon, Ill tell you that much.

You know we have a good squad when you can't find a place for Spearing (when Lucas returns), Maxi, Aurelio and Carragher in our first eighteen. That said, at this moment in time, I'm sufficiently unconvinced by both Henderson and Downing to suggest that Spearing and Maxi should take their places on your bench. Henderson I'm not too worried about just yet, since he does have time on his side. But for someone who was so hyped up, I haven't seen any of his attacking, defending, stamina or workrate attributes. He may be a solid midfielder, but he doesn't have any standout characteristics that justifies his current selection week in, week out. Downing, though, as you said, doesn't have time on his side. I never rated him to begin with, and I was as perplexed as anyone else when we signed him in the summer, especially for the 20m pricetag. It's a problem when you have a left-back who makes a far more capable left winger than our specialist left winger will ever be.

Carroll, on the other hand, is a different case. He's not a midfielder - hence, not a creator. He's a player who gets on the receiving end of chances. Feed him and he will put them away. For now, our service has not been good enough. If we do get players who are capable of giving him service, we will see for real if he's good enough to be a mainstay for years.

A big month ahead, for sure. We tend to do quite decently against the big clubs, although Tottenham have proved an Achilles' heel in recent seasons.

Cheers.

That would be swell. Love that idea actually. Enrique and Johnson are our best wide players anyway, might as well go with our best players in the 3 slots behind Carroll. I'd love to see that.

Two very fair comments from United fans, who I'm sure we all know can be right up there when it comes to blinkered support. Evra didn't hold a clean slate in this case either, just to be fair.
